A recent article I came across on LinkedIn by Lou Adler made me think about how the hiring landscape is changing with the increase of available data, better tools and smarter software. Despite the fact that all these are good support to managers, I believe that hiring and nurturing talent will still rely heavily on management soft skills. Job stretch and growth can be exciting, but most people are still averse to change – even talents. Which makes it that more important for managers to understand their people, and demanding for them to unlock their talent.
